I think it's an illusion, a bit like Ikki's Gen Ma Ken, after all Icelos is the God of illusions.
What I don't like of this chapter is that the Capricorn saint basically appears out of nowhere and is already in a major fight. I would have liked to see him introduced previously, for example talking with the other golds (we see very little interaction between saints in this manga, especially in the latter part). Also 5 Specters are basically wasted in one scene, and we are very close to the 108 limit.
On the good side, according to spoilers he mentions not being very good with his attacks yet. This reminds me of the side story in Jump Gold Selection 2, where Shura initially can only use cosmo slashes and is able to awaken Excalibur only a bit later. May be we'll see this Capricorn Saint, El Cid, awaken his own Excalibur too.

Well, I'm curious how Teshitogi will develop this storyline. With a little luck she'll try to break out of the usual patter this time, and then her way to introduce El Cid this way might even be beneficial - who knows? And about the 108 Specters - maybe this will force Hades to come up with something unusual, too. I am definitely very curious how things will develop here.

Actually I'm a bit disappointed to see Capricorn, just because I rooted for Scorpio as the next Gold Saint (I always thought poor Milo deserved a better treatment).
But there's a friend of mine in the Clan who'll be very pleased... And I've got to admit that this Cid is stylish^^
